Words Words Words....

Post 106
Todays card was thrown together after watching 'One layer Many Birthday Messages' , Thanks Yana for the great card idea.
I used the greetings I had in my stash and added a few bits and bobs, but the use of the sentiment stamps to make the background I found impossible to resist.
I used an A6 tent fold card base. On to a piece of white card I stamped my central sentiment, then all the others randomly around it (picked from several stamp sets!) , filling in the little gaps with various filler stamps from a variety of stamp sets.

The 3 ink splats were stamped with the Hero arts stamp set 'Brush Strokes', using hero arts shadow ink in Pale tomatoe,Green hills and Orange soda.

I wanted to emphasize the main central greeting so I stamped it on some parchment and positioned it over the original. If I did the card again I think I would emboss this in black. The parchment wrapped around the back of the black mat, then it was all stuck to the card base.
To finish off I added some self adhesive pearls which I had coloured to match the ink splats, using my alcohol markers.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Peacock request..

Post 105
This card was a quick one. A congratulations card.
The peacock was requested as was the sentiment.
I knew instantly where I would get the image from.....an old CD rom from Artilicious, now 'Chocolate Baroque I don't think the cd is available but there are some downloadable papers available,( I don't know if this image is amonst them). This image and the backing paper were both from the cd.

I cut the tail of the bird once I'd positioned where I wanted my die to cut, then lift the tail out of the die away from the cutting edge so it wouldn't get cut. The image and backing paper are matted on to black....it just make the blues of the bird pop!!

The sentiment is printed onto some vellum 'I'm as proud as a Peacock...'

And inside....' And I'm not even your Mother!'

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Boys , boys boys!

Post 104
Seems to be the only sort of cards I'm making at the moment, although this could easily be for a girl, pink or purple colouring and a few sequins or gems dotted about!!
Anyway, another card, for another chap. Once again the stamps are from Paper Smooches, the fabulous 'Teen Routine'. The background is made using the Paper Smooches 'Qwick Qwips' stamps. I used my promarkers to colour in the 'LOL', this was matted onto some black card.

The phone image has been stamped on black and silver embossed. I stamped a third image on white card to make the insert for the top phone. The images on here are all from the same stamp set.

The card had odd corners rounded, and faux stitching drawn around the edge.

Inside, just a basic sentiment.
Hope you liked todays card.
Happy crafting.

Cupcakes....who doesn't love a cupcake!!

Post 103
Good morning blog friends.
Todays card has the beautiful 'Cakestand' stand from Pink Petticoat. I coloured it using my inktense and water colour pencils.

The backing paper is also from Pink Petticoat...more of the 'Chevrons' in a soft brown,  the fine chevrons today though. I die cut part of a circle and positioned the cakestand behind it.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Stamp set 'Say it in Style', stamped on black card and embossed in white, then cut banner style on one end. With this black strip I felt the card need some balance, the black mat provided this.
I put 2 lengths of ribbon and some bakers twine across the top of the card.
The card was finished off with some faux stitching, some sakura stardust on the cupcakes, and a little punched flower with a gem in the centre.

Inside the card I used my left over chevron paper as a mat for some fussy cut cupcakes.
The sentiment is also from Clearly Besotted Stamps, from the 'Make a Wish' set, and it had to have another flower...of course.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

My Guy car.....

Post 102
Todays card is another Paper Smooches card, this one is from the  'My Guy' stamp set. The car has been coloured with distress makers. Then cut into a banner.

The backing paper is a digital paper pack from Pink Petticoat, 'Chevrons'.

I stamped and embossed the greeting directly onto the chevron paper, the stamp is from Clearly Besotted Stamps. I finished off the card with a rounded top corner and black gems. ( getting better at being random!!!)

The inside was stamped another greeting and the left overs from the black and chevron paper used.
Hope you like todays card.

Supposed to be a quick card!!!!

Post 101
Todays card would be a quick card if i hadn't messed up so many times.!!! Hey ho more of that later.
The images are from Paper smooches stamps 'Teen Routine' and 'Qwick Qwips'.

I first stamped the background with the Qwick Qwips stamps. I used Hero Arts  ,  Unicorn pigment ink ( my new favourite ink pad!!!!) As you can see it stamps beautifully on the black card. I heat set the stamping, to avoid smudging the ink, before colouring just the one word with derwent colorsoft pencils. (I did infact smudge the first of my efforts, then after re stamping I changed my mind on the orientation of the card, and the background being words, I had to start Again!!)
I did a base layer of white pencil  before adding the green just to make it pop more.

On my first card I stamped the game controller directly onto the white paper, I colourerd it with my pro markers and promptly threw it away as it had bled to the point of no return. I ended up cutting the image out to stick to the card. The sentiment is a mash up from 2 stamp sets.
The card was finished off with some faux stitching around the edge.

Hope you like todays card.
Sorry for the late posting.
Happy crafting.

Left overs...

Post 100
Todays card is made up of the left overs from post 99!!!
What was left of the lovely stamping, the same stamp, a circle die and white embossing.

The random sequins have to be used ....again!

The absolute last remaining shreds of the stamped image are used to finish off the inside.

No great big wow card for my hundreth posting I'm afraid but I hope you like it.
Happy crafting.

Simple but satisfying!

Post 99
OoooHH! nearly to a hundred posts....landmark eh!
Todays card is a simple one. A basic A6 card base, matted with black. For the vibrant colour I used the Just Rite background stamp 'Secret Garden'.......... I used various distress inks, spiced marmalade, spun sugar , mustard seed and worn lipstick, applying them each to the stamp very randomly!. I then spritzed it with water and stamped, bringing the paper to the up turned stamped.

I made sure the image was completely dry, then stamped and embossed the sentiment....another freebie from Craft Stamper.

More sequins were randomly placed!!!!!!!

Inside I used another strip of the stamped paper to embellish.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

More Mackintosh...

Post 98
Oh Yes! more of that pesky free stamp....love it.
This is a card I made for my Dad to give to Mum on her birthday. The card is such an unusual size I decided to make a vellum wrap for it. The sentiment on the wrap is a Sheena Douglass stamp which came free with a magazine.

The beautiful image was stamped 3 times and coloured with a mixture of water colour pencils and ink tense pencils.

I have a new  'happy' word die I've been busting to try an inlay technique with, since seeing Jennifer Mcguire demonstrate this may times..here

The birthday is stamped and embossed in white.

I finished the card with some gems and sequins randomly placed to add sparkle. Well..! I say random, it took me as long to place these as it took me to colour all the images.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy Crafting.

Pink Mackintosh..

Post 97
I'm currently on a Mackintosh roll...I'm reaching for this beautiful free stamp, from 'Craft Stamper', designed by Chocolate Baroque, all the time.
The main image is stamped and embossed in black and coloured with water colour pencils. Then matted on to black card.

The base is a tent fold A6, matted with black and pink paper.

The sentiment is once again from the Clearly Besotted stamps ' Say it with style' set.

I finished this simple card with a few black gems.

Hope you like todays card.

Cat smooches....

Post 96
A quick card for today.
I've used the cat from Paper Smooches 'Chummy Chums', he's been stamped in memento ink and coloured in alcohol markers. Simply cut out and positioned on the branch from 'Hang ups' also from Paper Smooches.

The balloons have been die cut, using Clearly Besotted stamps die set 'Make a Wish', the greeting is from the clearly besotted stamps set 'Say it in style'. The card has been matted onto some orange card stock, and faux stitching doodled around the edge to finish off.

Another greeting and some paw prints on the inside.
Hope you  like todays card.
Happy crafting.
