'The Other Bride'

Post 116
Todays card is a commissioned card, the brief was the 'colour aubergine'.....the rest was up to me!!!
So when it comes to wedding cards I tend to start looking for images in my digi stash, there were a few options but I don't need much of an excuse to go looking on my favourite digi stamp site Mosdigitalpencil. Of course she came up with the goods and I found this beautiful bridal image called 'The Other Bride' , coloured with my alcohol markers, with dots of star dust stickles added.
The card base is 8x8 , made from centura pearl card stock. I found various shades of purple in my co ordinations card, and some co ordinating paper flowers, all from Wild Orchid Crafts. Along with some ribbon to add extra texture to the card.

A box was made from centura pearl card, with a greeting and flowers added to the front.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Pocket of Blossoms

Post 115
Todays card, I'm back to the wonderful 'Blossoming Buds' from Paper Smooches, teamed up with another fabulous set from Paper Smooches called 'Denim and Daisies'.
I'm still in the A6 card size rut, this one is a tent fold with it's bottom corners rounded with the corner chomper.
I stamped the flowers on some water colour paper and gently coloured it with my water colour pencils, using my water brush to smooth it out. I stamped 2 of the smaller arrangements and cut one out in full, and selected various leaves and flowers from the other. Arranging them together spilling out of the pocket. The pocket I had stamped on some decorative script paper and die cut it out, with the co ordinating dies.

I knew I wanted the pocket on some kraft card, but it looked too plain. So, using the individual flowers from the set I stamped them randomly all over the kraft using versamark ink for the watermark effect (looks especially good on kraft I think!)
The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted set 'Say it in Style', embossed in white.

To finish off the card I wrapped some blue bakers twine around the kraft card, and embellished the card with sequins, gems and some faux stitching.

Inside , another greeting from Clearly Besotted's 'Make a Wish' set. And some more of the blossoming buds in opposite corners.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Get well soon!!

Post 114
Todays card is by no means my original design Lydia Brooke Evans on Pinterest is one of the first shaker cards using these stamps and dies I saw. Thanks Lydia for the idea.
The stamps are from Lawn Fawn, 'Get well soon'. And the dies, my new favourite, are also from Lawn Fawn, the 'Stitched Party Banners'
The card base is smaller than the usual A6, I slimmed it down to exactly fit the large banner.
I stamped and coloured the images using alcohol markers and cut the out with the coordinating dies

I used a , now unavailable, paper pad from Stampin up for my papers. I cut out both the Banners, cutting the aperture out with the circle die included in the set. I cut a piece of acetate slightly larger than the acetate and adhered it to the reverse of the banner. I covered the back of the small banner with foam pads, paying particular attention to the edge of the aperture....to ensure none of the contents escape.

Within the shaker are 3 pill bottles and several coordinating sequins.

The front of the card was finished with some ribbon and a sentiment from the  Clearly Besotted stamp set 'Say it with style', And some obligatory faux stitching!!

Inside, another sentiment from the 'Say it with Style', followed by some cute hearts from the 'Get well Soon' stamps, also a couple of plasters I'd stamped and coloured (plus one more on the reverse of the card)

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

And so it begins....Christmas!!

Post 113
Well , there's no denying it, the Christmas cards have to be made sooner or later.
This , the first of many, is made using the ever fabulous 'Silent Night' paper pad by First edition. A piece of the paper covers the base card. I've cut out a variety of smowflakes using Spellbinders 'Create a flake five', dies. I also cut the same snowflakes out of some metallic grey card stock, careful to keep all the little bits.

I then covered the back of the grey card with sticky sheet, and inlaid the snowflakes. I cut the inlaid card with  the Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Party Banners'. A smaller banner was also cut from vellum and stamped using the greeting from the Lawn Fawn stamps 'Winter Sparrows' .

I stamped, coloured and die cut the sparrows to add to the card.

The finishing touch is a simple piece of ribbon tied in a knot over the greeting.

'Bun in the oven....

Post 112
Todays card is a congratulations your expecting card. I've used the fabulous Lawn Fawn set of stamps called 'Plus One'. I stamped the image and coloured it using my Lyra aqua colour paints, then cut the image out using the smaller banner from Lawn Fawns 'Stitched party banner dies'. I threaded the ribbon through the banner holes and attatched to the back of the yellow card. The actual banner is adhered to the card on foam pads

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card with a versa fine onyx black ink, and finished the front of the card with some faux stitch doodling around the yellow mat.

Inside there's more faux stitches and a simple 'congrats!'...also from the stamp set. I used some of the yellow card to make the banner as I made a boo boo underneath and it had to be sorted!

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

'Spit Happens'

Post 111

A card for my nephew and his wife who have just had their second child.
Always good to have an excuse to this fabulous digi stamp from Mosdigitalpencil called 'Spit Happens'
On to a 6x6 card base I matted some kraft card, then layered the Stitched Party Banners, from Lawn Fawn. The larger banner was cut from the paper pad 'Silent Night', by First Edition. The top banner I cut out once I'd printed the image.

I coloured him with my alcohol markers. I cut the hearts from the smallest heart die from  Lawn Fawn. I coloured some of the hearts with my stardust pen then added some glossy accents. The arrow is from Spellbinders 'Paper art shoot', I cut the name from some old sizzix sizlit dies I have, I cut each letter 3 times and layered them up so the bottom layer just peak out creating a shadow effect. The front of the card was finished off with some ribbon threaded through the banner holes, and some white faux stitching drawn around the kraft card.

On the inside I added 3 more hearts and a strip of kraft card with some white faux stitching drawn around the edge.

I printed off a small and faded version of the digi image to finish off the inside of the card ...the joys of digi crafting!! Love it.

Hope you like todays card.

Vibrant blossoms...

Post 110
The blossoming buds set was out and my Mums given me a long list of cards she wants making....before I start on the Christmas cards!!! So another blossom card is the result.

Taking inspiration from the insert from yesterdays card I masked the corners of the paper to make a panel across the middle of the card.

Using a black onyx ink pad I stamp the flowers to fill the panel, filling some gaps with the dots and buds included in the stamp set. I used my Lyra aquacolors to paint the flowers.  Aiming for a more vibrant rainbow colour palette. To define the panel I used my fine liner pen to draw lines above and below the flowers.

I stamped and embossed in white the sentiment, from Clearly Besotted ,'Say it in Style'

I positioned the black card and marked it where the diagonal needed cutting.
To finish off the card I dug out a rainbow of sequins, and into each stuck a self adhesive gem. I also used some black gems in the flower panel.

Inside I used the words also on the Blossoming Buds, to make the greeting. I stamped off the page with the flowers to decorate.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy Crafting.

Blossoming Birthday.

Post 109.. Can you tell the children are back at school......I'm on a roll!!!! Love it!

Todays card is a fairly simple birthday card. I've recently purchased the 'Blossoming Buds' stamps from Paper Smooches, and it had to be used. I stamp and embossed in black, then coloured the image with my Lyra aqua colors. Embossing the line makes the colouring in so easy!!!

I matted my image onto some dark purple card, then onto some lighter purple.

I stamped the greeting and again embossed in black. I folded the edge of the vellum around the bottom mat and adhered it at the back. This was all the stuck to an A6 card base.

Random sequins were used to finish the card off, each with self adhesive crystals in the centres.

Inside the card I wanted to include some flowers. I masked off the majority of the insert and stamped the flowers to create a panel. I used a fine liner pen to draw the line defining the area as a panel. I used the same colours on the flowers but made sure they were a little subdued.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Cup cakes....

Post 108
My brief for this card was a 50th birthday card including cup cakes! So I dug out my cup cake stamps by Chocolate Baroque .
I started with a 6 x 6 base card, matted some kraft card, and some paper from the 'Silent Night' paper pad by First edition. (one of my all time favourite and versatile paper pads)

I had to use my new Lawn Fawn dies, the fabulous 'Stitched Party Banners', I cut a large banner out of white card, and the smaller banner in kraft card. Into the smaller banner I cut a circle where the cup cake fits perfectly. I used a Lawn Fawn alphabet to make my sentiment the 'Claire's ABC', stamped on kraft card and embossed in white.

The cup cake was stamped onto a few scraps of paper from the Silent Night pad then fussy cut and paper pieced together.I used my sakura stardust pen on the cherry of the cupcake then added some glossy accents.

The banner dies cut holes in the top of the banner so these needed embellishments in the form of bakers twine for the small banner and just covering with punched flowers for the large banner. I needed just a little something else so I grabbed my trusty box of paper roses, most of which are from Wild Orchid Crafts

To finish the front of the card I did some white dash lines to co ordinate with the stiching cut with the dies.

Inside, a simple greeting using the same alphabet stamps and a cup cake, cut out of more decorative paper using the Cottage Cutz 'Mini Cupcake' die.

More mini cupcakes on the back!
Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

CASED man card...

Post 107
Todays card was completely inspired , and attempted copy! of a card I saw on Pinterest, thank you susiewittwer.
My map stamp was a portrait stamp, I think it's a creative expressions stamp but I've had it so long I'm really not sure. So this dictated  my card would be portrait. The base card is an A6 tent fold card. The base is completely covered with black card. I then cut 2 pieces of kraft card, with odd angles in the bottom left. The map was stamped using Distress ink, Vintage photo. I then inked around the edges of both pieces of kraft but just edged toward the image on the top layer.
The happy is a die cut using Memory box, 'happy script' die , I cut the word out 3 times, the letters are so delicate I such the 3 words on top of each other to bulk it up a little. The 'birthday' was stamped and embossed in white.  The card was finished off with some white self adhesive pearls,

Apologies for the poor photo, the card was put together and on its way before I could get some decent pictures.

Hope you like todays card.
happy crafting.
