40 th birthday

Good morning world. Hope the sun is shining outside your window.
Todays card was a bit of a rush job, for a neighbour who celebrated her 40th birthday yesterday.

The main stamped image is a Clarity stamp called 'Corset montage' . It is stamped using Timber Brown stazon. I then re stamped the image on some pattern paper from the First Edition paper pad called 'Silent Night', I cut out the corset and paper pieced it onto the montage image.

I cut out the image with a square die, then inked around the edges.

I cut out 2 frames using the Spellbinders 'Majestic Labels 25', I cut the sides off each frame, and just used the tops and bottoms to frame my image.

I then matted it all onto some more of the paper, this was also inked.

The base card is a 6x6 white card, matted with some kraft card and a wide strip from the paper pad.

I made a tissue flower using my Sizzix bigz die called 'Flower, daisies', finishing it off with bling from my stash.

The number is from a pack of grunge board letters and shapes I've had in my cupboard for years. I just painted the 40, with some white acrylic paint to make it match the project.

The insert had another strip of paper, from the paper pad, and a co-ordinating tag with the sentiment 'Life your life and forget your age!'

It's addictive...

The box of cards I made was so satisfying, I started another straight away.

This time I restricted myself with the stamps I used....I only used the free stamps ,I've collected over the years from 'Craft Stamper'. (only as the main images!, all the sentiments are from my stash!)

The papers I used for this were a digital download from Pink Petticoat called 'Autumn Blossoms 2'. I used Ivory centura pearl card as a base for the box and cards.

                                     

The buttons were from a digikit on Craft Artist which I recoloured to match the papers. These were glazed after I'd stuck them to the discs of card.

As in the last box set, I tried to stick to generic greetings to be usable for more occasions.

Love this Telephone!

The tea cups are an old favourite, but I've never used this image of the lady before...it turned into one of my favourite cards.

I'm sure this won't be the last box set I make.

Challenging myself!

I recently found , on you tube, a video demonstrating how made a 'card box holder and lid' just using one piece of A4 card. I decided to give it a go as I've watch a few of the 'Pootles papercraft' videos and loved them.

I used some ivory centura pearl for the box, and some papers from serif, called 'Walnut Grove' , I changed the colour of the chevron paper , but hey thats the advantage digi crafting, but the blue paper is direct from the kit.

The box was made as I said from one piece of A4 card, the decoration of the box was one piece of paper. Plus a little bakers twine, rhinestones and button brads from my stash.

 Once I'd completed the box I challenged myself to fill it using minimal materials.
I managed to make 6 cards, using 3 printed sheets of paper and 3 A4 sheets of centura pearl, I had some decorative paper left over, but the box would only fit 6 cards and envelopes in it. I used a variety of stamps  from my stash, some tissue paper flowers, various brads, stones, twine and inks to finish off the cards.

The box fits the cards and envelopes in fairly comfortably....had to go easy on the embellishments!!! Big Challenge!

I think it may make a nice gift.

Birthday brew.

Good Afternoon Bloggers.
Todays card once again uses Karen Burnistons Pop n Cuts (I'm sat here beside myself waiting for the new Pop its from Karen and Elizabeth Crafts!!!!)

For this card I used papers from Serif, on Craft Artist2 , the kit is called 'Cocoa Latte', I love the colours in this kit. The front of the card is nice and simple, a single layer of paper, a sentiment I found on

 'imag-e-nation.com', cut out using Spellbinders Labels 1, and matted on red cardstock to match the base card. I cut out one of the coffee cups from the backing paper and matted it onto a circle of red card , using some bakers twine to attach it to the card as a tag.

As an after thought I glazed the mug on the tag for a little extra interest.

The Pop up die I used is the 'Mug and Heart', I cut the mug and heart out in contrasting papers from the backing paper, and stamped 'just for you' before attaching it to the card.

I cut a white label , Label 1 spellbinders, to give some area to write a sentiment and sign the card.

The steam is made with a movers and shapers die 'Flower and Heart', I cut this from some vellum.

I made another tag for the inside of the card, again attached with bakers twine.

Moving Card!

My love of the Karen Burniston 'Pop n Cuts' is just continuing to grow, so the card for today is, once again, made using said pop n cuts dies. 

This is the card I made for  one of my nephews who is turning 21....lucky thing!!!

It uses the base pop n cuts die with the circle pop up, I thought I'd give Karens 'Spinner card' technique a go. I used green core-dinations cardstock for the base of my 'old jalopy' , a die from Tim Holtz. The pattern paper I used is from Pink Petticoat, their 'Big Fella' collection.

The cars windows are cut out with the die so I taped the two back windows back in, note to self do this before attaching the car to the card!!!!
The sentiment is just printed off using a funky font I found on my computer, parts of this were coloured to co-ordinate with the rest of the card.

I must admit the card was a bit of a faff to make, but the recipient loved it, and it impressed all who saw it.

One baby...two cards.

Good Morning all.

Today's cards were made for the same baby, one for the parents , one for the Grandma.

The first uses a digital image from Pink Petticoat called 'Li'l Baby (Boy) Buggy' the image comes with or without the text.

I coloured the image with my Distress markers

The papers I used are the First Edition 'Silent Night' paper pad from Trimcraft

The quote , I printed off my computer. Then cut out with Spellbinders label 1 and embellished with a strip of decorative paper.

All the mats have been inked with distress ink.

And the small tabs were stamps from Lili of the Valley . A little bling in the corners finish the card off.

The second card was made , again using papers from Pink Petticoat.

The image is a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called 'Spit Happens'. Coloured with my Pro markers.

The letters are Clarity Stamp Letterbox kit, using the tag stamps made for this alphabet ( love 'em)

Once again all mats and layers were inked around the edges. And some self adhesive stones stuck into the corner.

The 'congratulations' was a stamp from the stash, and made to look like a tag.

On the insert I printed the image again, smaller and slightly faded ( the joy of digistamps!)

The verse, I found on the internet.

Rugby mad boy!

Happy New Year to all in blogland.

After a pathetic end to the year, as far as blogging was concerned, I have started afresh. The boys are at school, husband at work and the computer is mine .....for a while at least!

This card was made for my rugby mad nephew. I have used the Karen Burniston 'Pop n Cuts', base die on the inside. 

The outer of the card is Centura pearl decorated with card and paper from my stash.

The rugby ball is a stamp from Clarity Stamps called 'Remountable Welsh clear stamp set' I doodled some movement lines after stamping and coloured half the ball with my pro markers. The greeting is from a stamp set by Polkadoodles (I can't find it on their website though!) And cut out using spellbinder dies.

On the inside the main image, from Lili of the Valley, a stamp called 'Rugby Mad', has been coloured with promarkers and cut out , leaving a small border. 

The image is stuck onto the pop up part of the insert.

I made the goal post  using the sizzix 'Flagpole w/lantern & sign' sizzlit and attached them using the Floating floor technique, as seen on the Karen Burniston blog. (a template for the floating floor can be downloaded here too.)

 The banner was cut from the same sizzlit die but I stamped the letters using the Clarity stamp Letterbox set. Love it!

The greeting stamp is also from Lili of the Valley, the 'Everyday Grungy Messages'

Hope you like my first blog of the year. I loved making this card.....very satisfying!
